Colours of Anthologism
Anthologism is set to serve more than one purpose. The main pursuit seems likely to be the sharing of perspectives on episodes of anthology television series and streaming series. Then, there's a set of music playlists developed for years: they'll get put up, hopefully along with some commentary. Finally, for now, there are filmic anthologies: movies that bring together multiple short stories; this clearly has more in common with the series than musics. I considered treating series and film the same, but have decided against it for now.
So, with three different types of posts planned, there will be three different colour schemes to match.
The series colour scheme is based on the artificial glow of retro televisions, which part of me finds oddly comforting despite its cold artificiality.
The music colour scheme starts with the red that I first picked, a little randomly, for the logotype. From there, it builds out a bit like a light-mode streaming playlist. It seems right that it should clearly contrast to - be immediately distinct from - all of the more visually focused posts.
Finally, the film colour scheme is a little warmer, like brass stanchions, velour curtains, popcorn scattered on the carpet, and light rays cutting through the air overhead.
